Howard's Hyborian Age. Based on one of the greatest Conan tales ever written, "Tower" once again shows Behölder effortlessly blending the mystical sounds, colossal riffs and vivid storytelling their fans have come to expect. As a bonus, the band has chosen to bookend this new release with a monstrous rendition of the Savatage classic "The Dungeons Are Calling". Knocked out a gnarly drum session today with the hardcore heavy hitters in Brawliday Inn! This stunning artwork, which perfectly captures the essence of the music contained within, was created by the incredibly talented Zsofia Dankova, known for her work with bands such as Powerwolf and Elvenking. We’re thrilled to welcome the US doom metal group Behölder to Black Lion Records. Known for their unique blend of melodic doom, Behölder delivers a powerful sea of emotions, moving from mid-tempo to slow, groovy, and heavy passages. Their debut album has been mixed and mastered by none other than Ronnie Björnström, the sonic architect behind bands like Sorcerer, Aeon, and Blood Red Throne.

Hailing from the US, Behölder combines epic doom with dark power metal, drawing inspiration from the classic world of Dungeons & Dragons. Founded in late 2021 by guitarist Carlos Alvarez, the band features the haunting vocals of John Yelland, the intricate solos of guitarist Matt Hodsdon, the thundering rhythms of drummer Andrew Julkowski, and the driving bass of Michael “Oneirous” Sanchez. Their music weaves cautionary tales from the dark, mythical realms of fantasy, all set against a backdrop of colossal riffs and sweeping, powerful melodies.
