It’s been a dream of mine to visit RWB HQ for YEARS. I’m still awestruck I got to pay a visit to Nakai-San’s creative lab. It’s wild that the internet made this happen for me.
Here’s a quick story time that shows how in sync we all truly are. Around 2015 I started seeing RWB’s all over the internet. (Thanks NFS) Specifically Stella the black 930, and I was hooked immediately. I went on an absolute HUNT to shoot photos of an RWB myself. However At this time I was still new to shooting cars, and wasn’t the greatest. Many IG DM’s sent, posts saved, and comments left I still couldn’t lock one in. I did however find an endless stream inspiration, and a deeper love for RWB.
There was one post in 2017 that really captivated me though. It’s still burned into my brain to the point I feel I could draw it from memory. The scene in the photo is a dimly lit parking garage at night. A man standing and smoking in front of a white RWB. It’s a white Targa with blue and red accents on the hood. The photo was taken by , or at the time . (Lol) and the car is owned by a legend named Sid or @88.sc.604
Alex and I became internet friends after I commented on his post. Interacting every so often for all the years to come, but let’s fast forward to January 2023. Where Alex and I finally meet in person for the first time in JAPAN. AT THE RWB NEW YEARS PARTY! Turns out, Sid is also in town for the RWB festivities and I get to meet him as well!
A few days later though, we get a call from Sid. “Forget whatever you have planned today. Come to RWB HQ”
Obviously, we jumped on that. These photos are the proof. For me this was an emotional moment. I’m standing in front of one of my creative idols. Watching him work his magic, in the comfort of his own home. Amazing.
It all came true for me because of one instagram comment way back in 2017, and a shared love of cars.
Thank you Alex and Sid for keeping me inspired and inviting me along to this special place. One love 🫶
