How did we miss this!? Alex Soto's story was discussed on NPR's Code Switch (final five mins) back in September. They call Alex a "creative genius" and her story "a podcast palate cleanser."

Adults often find it really hard to talk about race. But kids? Maybe not so much. NPR received more than 2,000 entries in this year's Student Podcast Challenge, and we heard from young people all over the country about how they're thinking about race and identity in these trying times.

City High Radio is proud to announce that we had not one, but FOUR finalists in this year's New York Times Student Podcast Contest! Congrats to Iman Flenory, Alex Soto, Cougar Miller, and Julia Ortiz. Almost 900 students competed in the high school division. We invited teenagers to create an original audio program, five minutes or less, about anything they wanted. Over 1,300 students participated. Here are our favorites.
