My grandmother gave me this Canon XL2 right after film school at Pima. Shot some fun stuff on this beast till DSLRs killed off the use of mini DV.

I sold it years ago. No idea why, but the memories of this camera resurfaced a few weeks back and would not leave.

So I tracked it down after some extensive internet sleuthing and bought it back.

Going to shoot some fun stuff this summer with this baby.

Last year at the Resurrection Blvd. 25th Anniversary Reunion, we awarded the first Dennis Leoni Scholarship to Mayah.

Dennis Leoni created Resurrection Blvd., the first English-language television drama centered on a Latino family. Airing on Showtime from 2000 to 2002, the series helped open doors for Latino actors, writers, and directors at a time when those opportunities were rare.

This scholarship was created to continue that legacy by supporting Latino storytellers with the resources to create their next project.

The second recipient will be announced soon.
