The first class I ever took outside school was a course in photography, when I was nine.

On the first day, the teacher talked about how some people didn’t believe photography was art, as they thought it was “just pushing a button.”

And this was DECADES after Ansel Adams, and during the height of Annie Leibowitz’s career.

I’m mentioning this for no particular reason whatsoever…

The game is over. The haunting has begun.

After the asylum, the group seeks solace in familiar comforts: their RPG campaigns, the weird world of the 60s sitcom The Monster Show, and the raw sound of Queens' hottest 1991 band, Curb Dolls. But the past is a shadow they can't escape. A fleeting face at a carnival... a strange object from a vendor at a flea market... and a black cat who suddenly comes back into their lives.

When sudden tragedy strikes, it becomes chillingly clear that the horrors they uncovered are not confined to abandoned buildings. They are here, in their homes, and they are testing the very fabric of reality. As a solemn gathering is plunged into darkness, the only sound is a clockwork tick... and the terrifying realization that they are no longer players, but pawns.

The next chapter in the genre-bending saga is here. The countdown to Queensgate continues.

Curb Dolls release their debut EP, Who's There.

Full five-song EP below.

The all-woman grunge power trio, Curb Dolls, raised and fired in the forges of Queens, NY, scored their first hit single last year, in the fall of 1990, with their debut single, Country Girl in Queens.

Following a tour of North America, and recent live performances on ToozTV and The Really, Really, Late Show, Curb Dolls releases Who's There, a five-song EP growling with the energy of Queens, and the voices of working class people around the world as we come up on Halloween 1991.

Songs include:

Who's There?
[a psychological spooker]

Queens Proud
[a rocking tribute to Queens]

(Go, Go) Gogo Girl
[she's fire, she's flame, she's taking the world]

Sisters on Fire
[feminist rock anthem]

Country Girl in Queens
[live, recorded at The 13th Floor Music Club, Richmond Hill]

Curb Dolls, the breakout band from Queens in 1990, is back for 1991, with a style merging grunge with flavors of hip-hop from an all-women power trio.

Jesse Vaughn, guitarist and singer brings power and force guided by bassist and singer Lena Blackwood, spinnin' to the rhythms of drummer Maya Wells.

Raised and fueled by the raw energy and seismic power of the home in Queens, New York, the trio had their first smaller hit last year, in the summer of 1990, with "Country Girl in Queens"

Who's There? is the first, and title song, to this EP released October 18. With their recent live performance on ToonzTV, the trio are likely on their way to a chart-topping album.

The five-song EP includes: Who's There?, Queens Proud, (Go, Go) GoGo Girl, Sisters on Fire, and a live version of Country Girl in Queens, recorded live at The 13th Floor Music Club in Richmond Hill.

"With their debut EP, Who's There?, Curb Dolls prove that Queens is a force to be reckoned with as grunge music grows in the 90's"

HELLO DOLLS LIST!!!!!!

JUDITH HERE!!! OKAY I AM SERIOUSLY FREAKING OUT RIGHT NOW!!!

THE DEBUT EP "WHO'S THERE?" IS REALLY, TRULY, FINALLY OUT IN STORES TOMORROW (OCT 18)!!!!! AAAAAH!!!

But that’s not even the biggest part!!! GET THIS:

THEY'RE DROPPING A BRAND NEW VIDEO FOR "WHO'S THERE?" TO GO WITH IT!!!

I KNOW!!! WE JUST got the "Queens Proud" video on the 4th and it was the coolest thing ever, just pure street-level power. But from what I'm hearing, this new one for "Who's There?" is a whole different animal. It's spooky! It's like, medieval and modern at the same time?! My source said there are shadows, fantasy scenes, the band on the streets... and Jesse singing into a broken mirror?! It sounds SO intense and perfect for the song. We have to request it on 120 Minutes the second it's out!

So tomorrow isn't just an EP release, it's a whole CURB DOLLS EVENT.

The EP tracklist is absolutely killer, a perfect mix:

1. Who's There? (the new spooky one + NEW VIDEO!)
2. Queens Proud (our anthem! + the first video!)
3. (Go, Go) Gogo Girl (the new funky one they barely played live! SO CATCHY!)
4. Sisters on Fire (the rumored feminist face-melter! IT'S REAL AND IT RULES!)
5. Country Girl in Queens (Live) (raw and live from the 13th Floor! feels like home!)

This is it, people. This is our band. The one that started on the curb in Queens. They're doing it. They're really doing it.

CALL YOUR LOCAL RECORD STORE FIRST THING IN THE MORNING. REQUEST THE VIDEOS ON TOONZ TV ALL DAY. LET'S BLOW THE ROOF OFF THIS THING.

The Curb Dolls are Queens, and after tomorrow? EVERYONE will know it.

Judith
