📣 Copper World, Inc., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Hudbay Minerals Inc., today announced an agreement with Mitsubishi Corporation for a $600 million minority joint venture investment in the Copper World project.
Javier Del Rio, Senior Vice President of the U.S. Business Unit for Hudbay said, “Securing a minority joint venture partner was one of the key prerequisites unveiled in 2022 as part of Hudbay’s prudent financial strategy for advancing Copper World to a sanctioning decision. With all required state-level permits in hand, the feasibility study well underway, and active engagement with specialized contractors and local unions in preparation for the construction phase, securing a financial partner is the latest milestone achieved in our progress toward building a project that will significantly benefit many families in Southern Arizona.”
