Excited to announce that the award-winning Mexican film WE SHALL NOT BE MOVED will be screening in a couple of weeks as part of the Cinema Tucson series, with director Pierre Saint-Martin joining us in person!

Join us next Wednesday, November 19th at 7pm at the Fox Theatre for the screening, followed by a Q&A with the director.

Inspired by a true story, this film was selected as Mexico’s entry for Best International Feature Film at the 98th Academy Awards. Don’t miss it!

Be among the first to experience HOUSE OF ABRAHAM, a brand-new psychological thriller/horror film that just opened in June for a limited theatrical release. The screening will be followed by an exclusive after-party with live music from the incredible Hawthorne Experience at Bacio Italiano.

Directed by newcomer Lisa Belcher, who recently moved to Tucson, HOUSE OF ABRAHAM tells the story of a woman seeking an end to her suffering. She checks into the House of Abraham, home to a mysterious cult that promises a way out—but soon discovers all is not what it seems and must plan her escape before it’s too late.

THE LEGEND OF THE HAPPY WORKER, a human comedy about a simple man who is thrust into power, falls, and finds redemption. A story of faith, work, good versus evil, and the search for life’s meaning in an imperfect world on the eve of destruction.

From executive producer David Lynch, the film stars Thomas Hayden Church, Colm Meaney, Josh Whitehouse, and Meagan Holder. The Legend of the Happy Worker is directed by Duwayne Robert Dunham best known for his collaborations with George Lucas (serving as editor on Return of the Jedi) and David Lynch (Twin Peaks) in addition to directing classic films, including Homeward Bound: The Incredible Journey, Little Giants, Halloweentown, and the Thirteenth Year.

Director Duwayne Dunham & producer Leo Matchette will be present for a post-screening Q&A.

Sixth Street Filmworks is currently in production on the documentary film “George Matters," about the life and times of New Orleans’ musical icon George Porter Jr.

We are looking for an African American actor – male or female – between the age of 30-40. This character will act as the tour guide for the film and appear in places to provide context where the general audience lacks knowledge of a certain individual or event. In general, there should be 5-6 segments that need to be filmed.

Documentary film about the life and career of the iconic New Orleans musician George Porter Jr. George was one of the founding members of the seminal funk band The Meters who has gone on to enjoy a six-decade career as an in-demand band leader, guest artist and session musician.

This is an unpaid role and will most likely require 2-3 days of part-time filming.
