Today on The BIG DIG, we feature Jack DeJohnette. His approach was transcendent in improvisational and trio drumming. Always reaching. Always exploring within the rhythm. Finding the inside and the outside of the groove but never skipping a beat. His collaboration with Keith Jarrett and Gary Peacock is not only the best jazz piano trio work of the latter part of the 20th century but it's historic in the way it changed how we listen as musicians and lovers of standards.
