We’re incredibly proud to celebrate Tapspace co-founder Jim Casella, who was inducted into the Drum Corps International Hall of Fame as part of the 2026 class.

From his days in the Santa Clara Vanguard bass line to his groundbreaking work as a percussion arranger, composer, educator, and innovator, Jim has left an undeniable mark on marching percussion.

And his impact extends far beyond the field. In 1998, Jim co-founded Tapspace with Murray Gusseck and went on to develop Virtual Drumline, helping shape the way percussion music is written, taught, heard, and performed around the world.

This honor is a celebration of an incredible career and the countless musicians Jim has inspired along the way.

Congratulations, Jim! We couldn’t be more proud.

Congratulations to Tapspace composer Alex Stopa on an incredible achievement!

His original concertino, "Pale Blue Dot", earned four Emmy® nominations and two Emmy® Awards at the 2026 Pacific Southwest Emmy® Awards, including honors for Musical Composition/Arrangement and Audio Recording, Mixing & Design.

Inspired by Carl Sagan’s iconic reflections on our place in the universe, "Pale Blue Dot" is a breathtaking work for marimba, strings, and percussion that continues to captivate audiences around the world.
