Have you ever seen something you can't explain in the woods of East Oklahoma? If so, you're not alone.

Stories of a giant, hairy creature, often referred to as the "Kiamichi Cryptid" or "Green Country Bigfoot," have circulated in our area for decades. While some dismiss these tales as mere folklore, others are convinced that something is out there.

With thousands of acres of dense forests and rugged terrain, East Oklahoma provides the perfect habitat for a variety of creatures, known and unknown.

If you believe you have witnessed a sighting of the Kiamichi Cryptid, here's what to do:

Stay calm. Your safety is the top priority. Do not approach or try to capture the creature.

Observe from a safe distance. Try to note as many details as possible, such as size, color, behavior, and any sounds it makes.

Document what you see. Take photos or videos if possible. If you don't have a camera, sketch what you saw as soon as you can.

Report your sighting. Share your experience with a reputable organization like the Bigfoot Field Researchers Organization (BFRO) or a local wildlife authority.

Respect the creature and its habitat. Do not harass or try to provoke it. Remember, you are in its home.

TULSA, OK - DO YOU KNOW THEM? 👀

Tulsa Burglary Unit needs your help identifying these two individuals.

On August 8, 2026, around 10:30 a.m., the pair was caught on camera loading approximately $5,000 worth of property out of a unit at the Cobblestone Apartments (near 51st & S. 76th East Ave).

The catch? It wasn't their apartment, and it definitely wasn't their property. The resident wasn't home, and the suspects gained entry by cutting directly through the door.

The Getaway: The stolen items were loaded into a red pickup truck driven by the female suspect. The male suspect fled the scene on a bicycle.

After disappearing in July 2013, human remains recovered during an intensive search across Love County have been officially identified as 17-year-old Molly Miller and 21-year-old C**t Haynes.

• Molly and C**t vanished after being passengers in a vehicle during a high-speed police chase across Carter and Love counties.
• The vehicle crashed in a remote wooded area. The driver walked away, while Molly and C**t made frantic calls to friends and family asking for help before their phones went dead.
• For nearly 13 years, their families never gave up fighting for answers, searches, and accountability.

⚖️ What Happens Next:

The discovery was made following coordinated operations by the Chickasaw Lighthorse Police Department and the Bureau of Indian Affairs Missing and Murdered Unit. A high-speed pursuit that crossed state lines and tore through five counties has resulted in a massive 149-year prison sentence handed down in LeFlore County District Court.

Here are the details from the case of Steven Alexander Weinert:
🚔 The 55-Mile Chase: It started when a Polk County (AR) deputy attempted to stop a stolen Ford F-150. Weinert fled across state lines into Oklahoma, crossing through Polk, McCurtain, LeFlore, Latimer, and Pushmataha counties.

⚠️ Speeds Over 115 MPH: During the chase, Weinert reached extreme speeds and repeatedly drove into oncoming traffic, forcing everyday drivers completely off the road before Oklahoma Highway Patrol (OHP) troopers ended the pursuit with tactical vehicle interventions (TVIs).

⚖️ Stacked Charges: A LeFlore County jury convicted Weinert on six felony counts—including endangering others while eluding, possession of a stolen vehicle, and multiple counts of assault/battery with a dangerous weapon.

Following growing community pushback over surveillance and privacy, the City of Coweta is pulling the plug on its Flock Safety license plate reader cameras.

Coweta Police Chief Mike Bell officially contacted Flock Safety to request the removal of the city’s two automated cameras and confirmed the city will not renew its contract for the upcoming 2027 budget year.
