What’s up, y’all! ✨
I figured it was probably time to make my first post and explain exactly what this page is and why I decided to create it.
Over the last year or so, I’ve realized how much government and politics affect our everyday lives and just how much I still needed to learn about how it all works, especially as I navigate my own adulting journey. The more I started paying attention, following elections, researching candidates, looking into legislation, and trying to understand how everything actually works, the more I realized that a lot of people are probably in the same boat. We hear about bills, state questions, elected officials, and policies all the time, but a lot of us never really understood how it works beyond a basic civics class. (And let me add that all of my elementary and middle school teachers who taught this subject were phenomenal! This journey has brought back some fun memories.)
A few months ago, I started diving deeper into Oklahoma issues and found myself spending hours reading, comparing sources, looking at different perspectives, and trying to separate facts from opinions. I actually enjoyed it more than I expected to, and every time I learned something new, I wanted to share it with somebody (ask my mom and sisters 😂). That’s really what this page is about.
I’m not a political expert, and I’m not here to tell anyone what to think. I’m still learning too. My goal is to break things down in a way that’s easy to understand, share what I’m learning, talk about what’s happening around Oklahoma, and hopefully help more people feel informed and confident when it comes to government, politics, elections, and civic engagement. We’ll cover state and local issues, some federal topics, government basics, current events, and whatever else seems important along the way. You’ll probably catch glimpses of my personal life occasionally too because who doesn’t love a good side quest or a Luna update every once in a while? 🙂↔️🐾
Whether you’re Republican, Democrat, Independent, or don’t really follow politics at all, you’re welcome here. As I continue learning, I hope to become more comfortable sharing my own thoughts and perspectives from an informed place. I don’t believe having conversations about government and politics means everyone has to agree, but I do believe it’s important that we understand the topics we’re discussing and respect different viewpoints.❤️🤍💙
Thanks for being here. I’m excited to see where this goes. 🇺🇸✨
