It makes us so happy to see More Than a Ribbon making its way coast to coast, one dog show at a time.

We were pleased to share copies with the P*e Wee and Itty Bitty participants at the Heart of Ohio Saint Bernard Fanciers’ Labor Day weekend specialty.

Thank you to everyone at the club for including Kermit’s story in such a special event. We hope it reminds these young exhibitors that showing up, trying again and loving your dog will always mean more than any ribbon. ❤️🐾

These are the moments I hoped for when I wrote More Than a Ribbon. 💜

I still remember going to 4-H and then attending my first dog show as a kid. It began a love of dogs that has stayed with me ever since.

We were so happy to share copies of the book with the P*e Wees at the Cary Kennel Club show during the Tarheel Labor Day Cluster in Raleigh, North Carolina.

We don’t even remember the last time the weather was below 90° here, with a month of triple digits. Folks say it’s the hottest summer in 30 years.

There’s a short window in the morning when it’s pleasant enough to sit on the back patio.

Remy is enjoying himself with all the toys gathered around and a yak chew.

Hope everyone has a wonderful day and is keeping cool. Can’t wait for autumn and cooler temperatures.

Just a few more weeks until Kermit and I head to Lark and Owl Booksellers in Georgetown to read More Than a Ribbon.

I’m so excited to share the book with families and hopefully introduce a few more kids to the world of dog shows.
