When we started A Couple of Okies Doing Life, the goal was pretty simple: sit down together, have real conversations, share a few laughs, and talk about the things we’re all trying to figure out along the way.

Marriage. Family. Faith. Getting older. Chasing goals. Making mistakes. Traveling. Laughing at ourselves. And just…doing life.

We certainly don’t have it all figured out — but maybe that’s the point. ❤️

We’re incredibly thankful for everyone who has listened, shared an episode, encouraged us, or joined us along the way.

Sometimes the goal changes. Sometimes your body tells you something your brain doesn’t want to hear. And sometimes you realize that walking together might be just as important as running together.

On today’s episode of A Couple of Okies Doing Life, we’re talking about why the Marine Corps Marathon is officially off our calendar, why we’re still ALL IN for the Tulsa Run 15K, and what we’ve learned about marriage, movement and the conversations that happen when we simply get out and walk together.

• OU travels to Georgia — between the hedges, biggest test yet. 🐕
• Oklahoma State at West Virginia — country roads, take 'em home, Pokes.
• Tulsa heads to Arkansas — always fun poking the Hogs. 🐗

🎶 In OKC, Parker McCollum plays Paycom Center Friday night, and Phil Wickham brings worship to Paycom Sunday.

🎡 Last weekend to catch the Oklahoma State Fair in OKC before it wraps up Sunday!

🏈 And Friday night lights roll on — district play is heating up in the metro.

Load up the cooler and settle in, because it's an all-day football Saturday. We'll be hollering at the TV — come holler with us.

👵🏼👶 Being a grandparent is the best plot twist of Doing Life.

Whether it's the zoo with Hunter Jo and Marley Rae, an afternoon at the park with Paul, or just watching them discover the whole wide world — these two have our entire hearts.

Everybody warned us grandkids were the reward for surviving raising your own... turns out they were right. 😂

🏈 Well, y'all, pull up a lawn chair — it's a LOADED weekend around here! 🏈

Friday Night Lights are humming across the metro, so grab your stadium blanket and go holler for the home team. Then Saturday, buckle up: OU hosts New Mexico in Norman (6:30, ESPN2), the Cowboys welcome Murray State up in Stillwater (6:00), and our own Tulsa Golden Hurricane take on East Texas A&M for Parent & Family Weekend at Chapman (7:00). House divided? Story of our marriage. 😅

If music's more your speed, the casinos are COOKIN' this week — Nelly lights up Hard Rock Live on Friday, and Ann Wilson brings the pipes Saturday (already sold out, dang!). Feel like laughin'? Gabriel Iglesias is at River Spirit Saturday night. And over at the BOK, Thomas Rhett rolls in Saturday with the Soundtrack To Life Tour. 🎤
