Freedom Bell Publishing company, the Tulsa Black Historical society, and Greenwood Unlimted Foundation are proud to announce we have joined together to update the 2019 Black Directory Of Greater Tulsa and to document the historical existence of our churches, schools, organizations and black businesses in the Tulsa Metro area.
Just as the Black Pioneers of 1910 built the Greenwood Business District, we can rebuild our black business economy by working together as a single unit, using our skills, knowledge and most of all use the power of advertising.
By starting a business in this millennium, you become a new member of a revived movement to help rebuild our black business economy. We must begin now to take our rightful place in the history of America.
We must continue to demonstrate to our community that can unite and turn our situations around by creating self-employment and employment opportunities for our people.
The Black Directory of Greater Tulsa is a directory and magazine, combined with business listings and black history that is created to help find your business and at the same time provide the reader with interesting history of Black Tulsa.
The Black Directory of Greater Tulsa was the second of its kind created and published in 1971 to bring the North Tulsa Black Consumer and the Black Businessmen and women together. The first was released in the early ’40s to help the businesses on Greenwood.
In this issue, the Black Directory will feature an article about the Black Church and How the Black Church Started.
