🇺🇸Mark Tedford, a Republican Candidate Who Seems Ashamed of His Trump Endorsement

After MAGA warrior Jackson Lahmeyer dropped out of the congressional race after being caught being unfaithful to his wife, President Donald Trump wasted no time removing his endorsement and giving it to the “America First Patriot,” Republican candidate Mark Tedford. However, Tedford doesn’t seem proud to have the president’s support. In fact, he seems to hide it.

Go to Tedford’s campaign website and you’ll find endorsements from Republican leaders, including Broken Arrow Mayor Debra Wimpee. But one major name is missing: Donald Trump. Tedford says he will “fight alongside President Trump,” yet Trump’s endorsement is nowhere to be found among the endorsements he proudly showcases.

Tedford’s policies promise strict immigration enforcement, an end to benefits for undocumented immigrants, protections for the unborn and restrictions on gender-related medical treatment for minors.

I tried attending a Tedford campaign event to hear what he had to say, but I was not allowed to record or document it. When I identified myself as an independent journalist, an organizer told me no media were allowed. That makes little sense for a congressional candidate trying to reach more voters. If Tedford wants Oklahomans to hear his message, why keep the media out?

🇺🇸Will Texas Turn Blue? Democrat James Talarico Is Leading in U.S. Senate Polls

Texas has been one of the most reliable Republican states in the country for decades, but Democrat James Talarico is now leading Republican Ken Paxton in polling for U.S. Senate.

An average of recent polls compiled by 270toWin has Talarico at 45.4% and Paxton at 42.8%.

Republicans are now pouring money into the race. Trump-aligned MAGA Inc. has committed $10 million to help Paxton defeat Talarico. Talarico has also dramatically outraised Paxton, bringing in about $68 million compared with roughly $9 million for the Republican.

MAGA seems to have lost its appeal to the conservative crowd. At the Republican midterm convention in Dallas last night, Trump claimed the event was “totally sold out,” but the arena was not full. Reporters documented hundreds of empty seats, largely vacant upper sections and empty seats even near the stage.

In a desperate attempt to convince people to vote red, Trump promised a $5,000 “Trump dividend” to every adult American last night if Republicans remain in control of both chambers of Congress.

Trump knows what losing Congress could mean. He has already warned Republicans that if they lose the midterms, “I’ll get impeached.” A Talarico victory would move Democrats closer to controlling the Senate, which is exactly the kind of loss Republicans are fighting to prevent.

🇺🇸Markwayne Mullin Faces Stolen Valor Accusations After Admitting He Was Rejected Three Times by the Military

U.S. Homeland Security Secretary Markwayne Mullin is facing accusations of stolen valor after admitting he was rejected three times when he tried to join the U.S. military following the Sept. 11 attacks.

Mullin made the admission while discussing 9/11, saying previous injuries prevented him from being accepted into the military.

“I actually tried to join the military three times after that, and, because of some previous injuries they never would accept me.”

Mullin has never served in the U.S. military but has previously made comments about experiencing the “smell” of war and later discussed being involved in “special assignments” outside the Department of Defense.

🇺🇸Nowata Hospital Ends Inpatient Care, Patients Will Now Be Transferred Elsewhere

Nowata residents no longer have access to inpatient hospital care in their community after Ascension St. John Nowata officially transitioned from a critical access hospital to a Rural Emergency Hospital.

The federal designation took effect Sept. 2. The facility will continue operating a 24-hour emergency department and providing outpatient services, including laboratory and radiology services. However, patients who need to be hospitalized will now be stabilized in Nowata and transferred elsewhere for inpatient care.

The change also eliminates swing-bed care, which allowed patients recovering from an illness, injury or hospital stay to remain in Nowata for skilled nursing and rehabilitation. Before the conversion, residents organized against the proposal and collected about 1,200 signatures calling for inpatient care to remain in the community.

Ascension has said the conversion will help keep health care available in Nowata and make the facility financially sustainable.

Nowata residents who need to be admitted to a hospital will now have to receive that care outside their community. Ascension has identified hospitals in Bartlesville, Owasso and Tulsa as facilities that can receive transferred patients.
