Aaron Ballinger is the founder, publisher, and writer behind Equinox Comics, an independent comic book publisher based in Tulsa, Oklahoma that builds its own shared universe of characters and stories. Equinox Comics began as a passion project born from Aaron’s lifelong love of comic books, creator-owned storytelling, and a commitment to building original worlds for fans to enjoy.

Under Aaron’s leadership, Equinox Comics has published multiple titles exploring superheroes and genre storytelling, establishing a unique independent comic brand rooted in immersive world-building and creative collaboration. He has worked with writers and artists to bring these stories to life and has shared his vision in local media discussing pop culture and comics events in the Tulsa area.

Aaron’s work as a publisher and creator reflects his commitment to indie comics and his belief in giving imaginative stories and new voices a platform. At Boomtown Comic Con, he’ll be meeting fans, signing books, and discussing the journey of building a comic book universe from the ground up — from early concepts to finished printed issues.

Johnnie Johnson is a comic book artist working with Equinox Comics, where he contributes original artwork and designs to the publisher’s independent universe campaigns.
