I’ve got another new project and debut composition coming out 11/1.

Debut Prayerie composition Tesuque Creek out 11/1 with Inspired by and featuring field recordings of the South Fork of Tesuque Creek, high above Santa Fe, NM. Dancing through lush foliage of Fireweed, Colombian Monkshoods, Sedges, ferns and moss covered boulders, this enchanting mountain stream on a Summer afternoon engenders a carefree, elevated mood where all things are possible and infused with good cheer. I endeavored to embody this feeling in the piece so it can be listened to anywhere and anytime this energy is called for. In the key of D major, associated with the sacral (second) chakra which is connected to sexuality, water, the color orange, feelings of joy, openness, sensuality and creativity. Healthy flowing water embodies all of these qualities and I chose D major intuitively while listening to the sounds of the stream. May it bring joyous and calming vibrations to you!

new new Eric Sarmiento album out today! This long player picks up where the last album of electro cosmic Americana left off but veers onto the dirt roads and forgotten paths of a vanishing America. In other words this one gets rootsy and bluesy but does so in new and unexpected ways. The songwriting chops are on display as are the vocals but Eric’s unique and seasoned guitar playing is laid thick and tasty with surprising twists and turns. This outing also includes two covers which is a rarity in the deep Sarmiento catalog. Enjoy wherever new music is sold.

Our main man Eric Sarmiento has a spectacular masterpiece of a new album out. This is actually something he wrote and recorded while living in Oxford, England back in 2016 but as Eric put it “I’ve been reluctant to share it since then, mainly due to the heavy associations it has for me”. Heavy associations aside or perhaps because of them, we’re glad he’s finally putting it out there. In a long career filled with cohesive albums that tackle heavy themes and moods but always with a sense of levity and elan, this one takes it next level. From the jump, opening track Over and Over, begins with a simple rootsy, folky guitar figure not dissimilar to some of Eric’s Pistol Arrows tunes, but quickly fleshes out with funky sounding 80s synths and drum machines and exquisite vocal harmonies ushering in the aesthetic of the whole album. In short this is a singular slice of Cosmic American Music, equal parts Country, and Americana but with an extra helping of heady depth and harmonic jazzy modulations Brian Wilson would be proud of. We’ll be highlighting some of the tracks over the next week or so. For now the album is exclusively available at Eric’s bandcamp page. A full digital release may be forthcoming. Link in bio.

The long awaited conclusion to trilogy of albums known as Later Days is officially out today!!!! This outing may be the best of them all! We find the boys settling into a more mode. They’re a little more laid back and here but there’s still plenty of energy and room for explorations of the infinite sky above. A new trio lineup of the band will be back at one of their favorite old haunts tonight to celebrate! Hope to see you there and give all three albums a spin. All 3 of the albums are also available as limited cds. A limited vinyl run may be in the works as well.
