Happy birthday to Ronald "Pigpen" McKernan founding member of the Grateful Dead from 1965-1972. He was the band's original frontman known for his love of the blues. Pig died in 1973 at the age of 27...The Grateful Dead's sound was never the same.

New album with a first time vinyl release on the way from The Good Luck Thrift Store Outfit!

We might as well let the cat out of the bag.

As some of you have correctly guessed, and a few people figured out through their networks of little birds and straight up spies, we went into the studio and recorded a bunch of new songs as kind of a 20th year anniversary extra bonus gift to ourselves and to any of y'all that wants to hear it.

We recorded over 20 different tracks and have not decided what we're going to do with all of them just yet. But we did manage to fit a handful of our favorite jams onto vinyl for the first time ever. So, we have reached the 20 year mark, we finally are making a contribution to the world of vinyl (our favorite world), and we're gonna have a big ol' party in the forest. "The Trees At Last" kind of sums up all those sentiments.

We have decided to do a preorder sale so folks can reserve a copy ahead of the release. There will be a limited number of vinyl, so get ready to reserve one. There are even a limited number of CD's for folks who are getting back into that format (or never let it go).

The preorder will probably start this week. But you better stay tuned right here if you want more info on that!

We are super excited to get these songs out at last.

Released in August 1968, The Byrds 6th studio album saw the addition of Gram Parsons to the line-up dramatically changing their sound from their psychedelic roots to a progressive country/country rock sound. Not highly successful when it was released, it has went on to become one of the most seminal and influential country rock albums, establishing and defining the genre. One of my all time favorites, give it a listen!

The Days Between references the days between Jerry Garcia's birth and death...Jerry Garcia was born August 1, 1942 and died August 9, 1995. This weekend in San Francisco the entire city will be celebrating Jerry's birthday and the 60-year anniversary of the Grateful Dead. Tonight, we've got a great set of music planned with a special nod to this weekend's shows at the Polo Grounds in Golden Gate Park. Besides this huge festival even, numerous other smaller shows and afterparties will be happening throughout the city all weekend.
