For several years, the youth groups at Turlock’s First United Methodist Church have volunteered their time and man-power to help deliver food boxes to seniors.

While sidewalks are public property, state law and Turlock’s municipal code makes homeowners responsible for the repair of sidewalk defects. A new city program will help cover the costs of fixing damaged sidewalks.

The city of Turlock will now help homeowners with the costs of repairing damaged sidewalks after the city council voted Tuesday to approve an assistance program that will offset costs.
