We're at Lisa's 50th Sneaker Ball Gala, “Lean Wit It, Rock Wit It” by Dem Franchize Boyz hit the speakers, and my guy slid right into that two-step.

But baby...

It wasn't the two-step that got me.

IT WAS THAT JACKET! 😭😂

Unc was leaning with it, rocking with it, opening that jacket, closing it back up... all while grooving with one of the ladies.

And everything was right ON BEAT. 😂🔥

No jumping around.

No doing the MOST.

My guy just had that smooth, grown-man “I know exactly what I'm doing” energy. 😮‍💨

See, some folks gotta take over the whole dance floor to get your attention.

Smooth Unc just needs about three feet of space, a good beat and that JACKET. 😂😂

We were at the Carrollton High School Banquet, and when “Whip Appeal” by Babyface came on...

Baby, these two got in their OWN little world. 😂

Auntie was right there loving on her man, Unc was matching her energy, and the two of them were just GROOVING together.

But what absolutely took me OUT was the singer on the microphone watching the same thing WE were watching and saying...

“They getting nasty, y'all!” 😭😂😂😂

BRUHHHH!

Because apparently we ALL noticed Auntie and Unc had turned that little section of the dance floor into date night. 😂💕

And listen...

THIS is the kind of grown love I like to see!

Years go by, life happens, responsibilities pile up—but when the right song comes on, you can still look at YOUR person and say...

But Ms. Ruth's people were READY!

So I said alright then...

I dropped “Grown Man” by King George, and next thing you know, Ms. Ruth and her crew were right there in the middle of the dance floor getting their little groove ON. 💜💃🏾

And baby, I loved seeing Ms. Ruth surrounded by HER people.

Because this wasn't just a birthday.

It wasn't just a retirement party.

This was a room full of family and friends saying...

“Today, we're celebrating YOU.” 🥹💜

And what better way to do it than with some good Southern Soul playing and your people right beside you?

That's the thing about grown folks music...

We're at the Carrollton High School Banquet, and I had “Wifey” by Next playing on the 1s and 2s.

Everything moving. Everybody vibing.

Then The Locked Band heard it and...

LOCKED. RIGHT. IN. 🔒🔥

Baby, when I tell y'all it was SEAMLESS!

The track was playing, the band came in with it, and we just started feeding off each other.

Nobody fighting for the spotlight.

Nobody trying to overpower anybody.

Just the DJ and the band listening to each other and WORKING THE SONG TOGETHER.

And THAT is what makes these moments so much fun for me.

Because when everybody involved understands that we're all there for the SAME reason—to give those guests an EXPERIENCE—something special happens.

And baby...

When DJ Lit + The Locked Band get together… baby, we was LOCKED AND LIT! 😮‍💨🎷🔥

Okayyyy, Carrollton! ❤️💛🔥

The Class of 1990 said if we're getting everybody together, we're doing it RIGHT!

And baby, they did.

Red, gold and white throughout the Carrollton Service Center, ceiling drapes covering the room, and that giant illuminated CHS standing front and CENTER. 😮‍💨

But what made this night even more special was seeing generations of Carrollton classmates come together under one roof—including alumni going all the way back to the 1960s! 🙌🏾

And then there was the MUSIC...

The Locked Band on stage + DJ Lit on the 1s and 2s?!

Yeahhhh...

WE WAS LOCKED AND LIT! 😂🔥

The band would give 'em something.

I'd come right behind 'em with something.

And we just kept that energy moving throughout the night!

There's something different about a school reunion like this because you're not just playing music.

You're playing MEMORIES.

Songs that take somebody back to high school.

Songs that remind them of old friends.

Songs that make somebody look across the room and say, “You remember THIS?!” 😂

And trust me...

We've got PLENTY more from this night to show y'all. 👀🔥

Baby, Lisa put on them SHADES, got right in the FRONT of the line and said...

And when that train started moving around the room?

Lisa didn't miss a BEAT.

And what made it even better?

This was HER celebration.

HER 50th.

HER people.

And she was right in the middle of it all having herself a GOOD TIME. 💛

That's the kind of birthday energy I love to see.

Because turning 50 doesn't mean sitting down somewhere watching everybody else party.
