Red Rook Press is holding an introductory staff meeting Tuesday, September 1st, at 6PM in Reese Phifer Hall room 180! Everyone is invited! We'll serve food, and use the time to announce new projects, reconnect, and welcome anyone who wants to join!

Red Rook is an award-winning, student-run publishing house from the University of Alabama. Red Rook publishes novels, short story collections, and poetry collections from undergraduate and graduate students across the world. We're looking for undergraduates to staff each editorial department (no experience needed):

*Audio (producing audiobooks and podcasts)
*Acquisitions (reading and selecting the books to publish)
*Design (cover art, illustrations, book design)
*Fiction Editing (shaping manuscripts into a final draft)
*Poetry Editing (work with poets on the final collection)
*Promotions (marketing the books and outreach)
*Special Projects (children's books, plays, and graphic novels)
*Website (crafting the RRP website and blog)

Red Rook Press is a student led press based out of the University of Alabama. They are in their second year and will be releasing a novel, a poetry book, and a republication of a novel from last year. Joe Moody reports on its origins and what makes this little independent press so unique.
