The Rance M. Sanders Real Estate Program, which includes a new undergraduate major and an existing minor, got its name after a discretionary $5 million gift from UA alumni Rance M. Sanders and Angie L. Sanders of Vestavia Hills.

The University of Alabama's real estate program at the Culverhouse College of Business has a new name alongside a $5 million donation.

The federal Land and Water Conservation Fund grant will be used to build a swimming pool at the 15-acre Central Park site, formerly Carbon Hill Elementary/Junior High School.

The City of Carbon Hill is transforming the site of a school destroyed by a tornado in 2002 into a summer oasis with the help of a $400,000 grant.

Important info if you live in Jasper or are attending the Foothills Festival this weekend!

Jasper Area Entertainment’s Foothills Festival - Jasper, Alabama is this weekend! Road closures have been approved to accommodate this event. Downtown road closures will begin at 6:00 a.m. on Friday morning on 19th Street from Alabama Avenue to 6th Avenue. This is to allow access for vendors to set up and to enable volunteers and city employees to safely set up and prepare.

Weekend Notice: Road closures on 19th Street from Alabama Avenue to 6th Avenue will continue through Sunday morning until approximately 3:00 a.m. This also includes portions of 18th Street, 1st Ave E, 1st Ave W, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th Ave. Please be aware of these road closures as you travel around downtown Jasper this weekend.

All City of Jasper offices will be open on Friday.
