Interesting! Why not Tuscaloosa? What could we learn from Natchez?

A small Mississippi airport is preparing to welcome commercial passenger flights again for the first time in three decades.

Daily service will begin on July 1, 2026, at Natchez-Adams County Airport, restoring scheduled airline operations after a 30 year absence. The route will be operated by SkyWest Airlines under the United Express brand, with flights connecting Natchez to George Bush Intercontinental Airport, one of United’s largest hubs.

The service will run daily using a 50 seat Bombardier CRJ200, with a flight time of about 45 minutes. City leaders say the return of air service is central to economic growth, tourism, and business development, with projections estimating more than 10,000 passengers in the first 12 to 18 months.

Local officials also link the announcement to new investment, including airport upgrades, firefighting equipment, and renewed interest in conferences and film production.
