“Please show some empathy for my husband” — the wife of Alabama head coach Kalen DeBoer broke down, sharing her emotions after Alabama’s 38–3 loss to Indiana in the playoff quarterfinals.
She revealed that before the game, DeBoer was under immense mental pressure — nearly exhausted from carrying the weight of expectations from his team, coaching staff, and fans. “He has spent the entire season preparing for this game, pouring every ounce of heart and energy into leading the team,” she said. Even though the final result was a heavy defeat, she emphasized that DeBoer’s effort, dedication, and spirit never wavered.
She shared that throughout the game, DeBoer remained calm and determined, guiding his players step by step, encouraging them not to give up even as the situation grew increasingly difficult. “He is not just a coach — he is an inspiration to the team,” she said, her voice choking with emotion.
“Please show some empathy for my husband,” she continued. “He gave everything he had, endured tremendous pressure while staying strong, always putting the team above himself, and worked tirelessly to let his players know they were never alone. Even though today’s result was not what we hoped for, everything he has done for the team and the fans will remain in people’s hearts forever.”
Her message was not only a defense of DeBoer but also highlighted the bond between a coach, his players, and the fans, reminding everyone that in sports, effort, spirit, and love for the team matter just as much as the score on the board.👇👇👇
