Caught the Northbound Amtrak Crescent making its daily stop here in Tuscaloosa.
This train is on a marathon run, having left New Orleans this morning and heading all the way to New York City’s Penn Station.

The vessel in your photo is a "Ladonna Rubio", type of tugboat specifically designed for inland waterways. Unlike ocean faring tugs that pull from the front, these boats have a flat bow to push a string of barges. On the Black Warrior River, it is common to see these boats moving Alabama coal from mines upriver to down toward the Ports for export.

Caught a long Union Pacific intermodal rolling south through the Greensboro Ave crossing today in Tuscaloosa. Five engines were working hard to pull 112 well cars loaded with 227 containers. It’s always impressive to see these Western giants running on our local tracks heading toward Meridian...
