Every time you sit down at a restaurant, there's something you probably don't think twice about...

Who is preparing your food?

You trust the people working behind the counter to follow basic food-safety rules and treat customers and coworkers with respect.

That's why an alleged incident at an Austin burger restaurant has gotten so much attention after photos appeared online showing an employee engaging in disturbing and inappropriate behavior involving food.

Buddy's Burger says the employee was fired mid-shift on September 1 after another employee complained about alleged indecent exposure. Austin police and Austin Public Health are investigating.

For you horror movie fans, the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre from 1974 is definitely in your collection. The movie is partly inspired by a real serial killer from Wisconsin who killed two women and would exhume other bodies to use their bones and skin for different things.

Picture skipping every red light and stretch of gridlock by floating above it all instead. 🚡 A company's been exploring bringing autonomous, self-propelled gondolas to the DFW area, and the setup sounds like something straight out of a movie, cheaper, cleaner, and a lot less stressful than sitting in traffic. That's a debate a lot of animal lovers have strong feelings about.

Smith County Commissioners have officially recognized September 19 as Puppy Mill Awareness Day, encouraging residents to make informed choices, combat deceptive online sales and consider humane alternatives like adoption.

And on that same day, Pets Fur People is planning a peaceful rally outside the Petland location at the French Quarter Shopping Center in Tyler from noon to 2 p.m. Organizers are inviting people to attend, wear navy blue and bring signs.

Most of us don't give it another thought.

But what if someone had secretly tampered with that pump?

Investigators say three people have now been indicted in connection with an alleged organized criminal operation involving credit card skimmers at gas stations in East Texas and the DFW area.

According to court documents, investigators believe skimming devices were installed at multiple gas stations along I-20, including locations in Smith County. License plate cameras, phone records and financial records all played a role in the investigation.

There's a reason you can drive for hours through Texas and still somehow get excited when you see that giant Buc-ee's sign up ahead.

If you're looking for something to do in East Texas this weekend, you're going to have some choices.

Fair season is getting started, there are festivals happening in several towns, and there are plenty of opportunities to get outside, listen to live music, shop local and bring the kids along.

Summer is my favorite season of the year. I love the 90-plus degree heat. I will take that over a 50 degree, or lower, day any time. I can't stand being cold (which is ironic because my wife has to have the have house at 67 degrees all the time).

I will admit that this summer has been abnormally hot in East Texas. We've seen several days in a row that were above 100 degrees with heat indexes around 110. What is unusual is if temperatures get, to say, 120 degrees or higher. It has happened twice in Texas.
