Some days the hardest part of Lewy body dementia is not the memory loss people expect. It is the looping. The repeated thoughts. The fixation on one thing that the brain cannot let go of.
Lately it has been showers. Repeating the same concerns over and over. The anxiety that comes with it. The emotional exhaustion for everyone involved.
Watching someone you love become trapped in a cycle they cannot escape is heartbreaking. Dementia changes so much more than memory. It changes daily life, emotions, routines, and the entire family walking through it beside them.
We are taking things one day at a time right now.

Memorial Day is more than a long weekend, it’s a time to reflect on the courage, service, and sacrifice of those who gave everything for our country. We are forever grateful.

Sometimes we underestimate the impact of small changes in healthcare.

One supportive caregiver can completely change a patient experience.

One successful visit can rebuild trust after years of fear and frustration.
And one clinician willing to slow down, listen, and adapt, can create lasting change for an entire family. That’s the ripple effect of advocacy.

Advocacy doesn’t always start with policy. Sometimes it starts with one patient…
One barrier…
One conversation. 💙

Some of the most beautiful things in life are felt, not fully explained. 💙
Not everyone experiences the world the same way, and that’s okay. We don’t need to fully understand someone’s journey, challenges, or differences to show kindness, respect, and appreciation. Sometimes the most meaningful thing we can offer is compassion without judgment and acceptance without conditions.
