Did you know the Cane Corso’s eyes tell you almost everything about its temperament and heritage?

According to both the FCI and AKC breed standards, the eyes should be oval in shape, medium-sized, and set well apart in a nearly frontal position, giving the Corso its signature intense yet calm expression. The iris should be as dark as possible, harmonizing with the muzzle and coat color — dark brown for black muzzles, and lighter tones only acceptable on gray or fawn muzzles.
This isn’t just about looks — the Corso’s eyes were bred for purpose. Historically used as silent estate guardians and hunting companions, their deep, steady gaze allowed them to read their handler’s intentions and assess threats without unnecessary movement or barking. That confident, composed expression you see today is a direct reflection of those ancient instincts — the mark of a true “Guardian with Eyes that Speak.” 👁️🐾

This dog is something else! Always down for an adventure or ride. Side-by-Side, scoot over. Golf Cart, make room. Skid Steer, pretty please. Paddle Boat, let me on. Paddle Board... Let's Go!!! After watching me from shore for over a year he decided it was time to give it a go. Odin weighing more than me made it a little sketchy, however our trust and impeccable balance made it work. These are definitely not flattering angles of me, but I could not let them go unseen! Cane Corsos are amazing dogs and once the trust is created the possibilities are endless!
