Cheers to Summer Fridays! 🍻

Especially the ones spent on a gorgeous day out on the back deck with a tasty beverage and some great tunes.

Today's pick is Songs Unsung from Wandering Soul Beer — a mango and peach kettle sour brewed with Trappist yeast. I honestly didn't know Belgian-inspired kettle sours were a thing, but I'm glad they are. Bright, fruity, tart, and just enough Belgian character to make it something a little different.

Here's to kicking off the weekend the right way. ☀️🎶🍺

Dudleytown Brewing Company
Windsor, Connecticut.

Beer lineup: 🍺
👻 Juice Ghost – A hazy IPA collaboration with Weldwerks. Juicy, smooth, and loaded with tropical flavor.
☕ Creamatorium – A cream ale with coffee and vanilla that somehow manages to be rich and refreshing at the same time.
🫐 Berries Bones – A berry sour with a bright, tart finish that was perfect for a hot summer day.

Food:
🌮 Loaded Nachos – Buried under a mountain of queso and crema. Messy in all the right ways.
🍕 Chiccy Baccy Ranch Pizza – Chicken, bacon, ranch...and we added hot honey because life is too short not to.

Between the excellent beer, great food, and welcoming atmosphere, Dudleytown absolutely lived up to the hype.

Even if I wasn't a brewery fan, I still would've stopped in here at Rockport Brewing Company
Why? Because it's one of the few spots near the wharf where you can actually find parking!

This place has been on my radar for a while, but I never seem to make it out this way, so I made sure it was part of the North Shore adventure.

Nice, cozy taproom with plenty of seating, games to keep you occupied, and lots of cans to go.

The beer list was impressive, so naturally I went with a flight of four:
🍺 Shorebreaker – IPA with Motueka, Cashmere, and Azacca
🍺 Oktober Gale – Märzen
🍺 Cape Hedge – Kölsch
🍺 Twin Lights – DIPA with wheat, oats, and rye

Everything was solid, with the Shorebreaker and Cape Hedge being my favorites of the bunch.

The pizza looked and smelled incredible. Unfortunately, we had just finished lunch, so that'll have to wait for the next visit.

Happy 1st day of summer, beer buds! 🍻
My ass wasn't staying home on this gorgeous New England day, so a trip to Alfalfa Farm Cellars and the new Essex County Brewing location was in order.

Plenty of great beer choices, along with wine, cocktails, and a rotating lineup of food trucks. The setting is exactly what you want on a day like today—scenic views, wide open space, and plenty of room to kick back, enjoy a beverage, and soak in the start of summer.
Not a bad way to start the summer.
Cheers! 🍺☀️🌾

1st visit to Transcend Beer in Plainville, CT.
They've been at the location for just a year but the crowd and local vibe proved they've fit right in.

Located next to the Robertson Airport, the building has a "business park office" look to it outside but inside is a spacious open room with plenty of tables.
We walked up and ordered a beer off a list that heavily focuses on IPA and Smoothie Sour with a couple of lighter Lager options.

Did not order any food but from our peeks at fellow patron's plates, the pizzas and chicken sandwiches looked amazing.

Beers had:
Spectral Orbit Hazy New England IPA
Keller Down Low Kellerbier/Zwickelbier

Beer and pizza just go together like...well...beer and just about anything.
But phenomenal bar pizza just makes it a much better experience.

Epigram Brew Co. for a solid flight of delicious brews and bar pizza that's on par with anyone on the south shore.

Started with the spicy fried pickles.

Pizza for 2: Portobello mushroom and carmalized onion; Buffalo Chicken.

Flight:
Ingenious Double IPA w/ Citra, Citra Cryo
Curse the Darkness Imperial Stout
Dead Red Ale
Collab Series "Cold IPA" (it's IPL, folks) with Moby Dick Brewing Company
