.boone_ is on the board for predators this year and his first gray fox! This gray fox came almost exactly how we drew it up, came right to the call, and figured out the hard way what 150 grains of lead tastes like… 🫣

Lots of season left and we might just be hooked ā—ļø

I built this gun back in the summer of ā€˜23 and have never really gotten the chance to take it hunting, other than a few times for some groundhogs. It’s a build kit from with a lower receiver. Up top I have a 4-12x40 scope. I’ve also got a red light mounted to the picatinny rail (I don’t know the brand šŸ˜‚ I got it from Amazon though). Eventually I would like to add a suppressor and a clip-on thermal, but that’s a little bit down the road yet. But overall a super solid gun and most definitely will be hitting the fields more throughout the rest of the season!

We’ve made some changes to 4D Outdoors here in the last few months so we figured it was about time that we introduce the 4D Crew

Connor Kichman
Adam Boone
Nathan Burket

Between the three of us we’ve got almost 40 years of hunting experience chasing whitetails, pheasants, turkeys, doves, and more. While much of our success have been before the creation of this page, we hope to be able to bring all of our success and stories to this platform and share it with the community. We’ve already got some great things coming and plenty more in the future!

11/17/22, a hunt that I will never forget.

The day started slow in the morning but the evening was top notch. From not seeing anything in the morning to having an action packed evening. I got in the stand around 2 and by 2:30-3:00 the does started moving in. Then around 4:00 I got my first glimpse of a good buck who never came within 100 yards. Fast forward I had a small 8 walk under my stand and work to the left and ended up meeting with the buck I eventually killed. I got to watch them fight and snort wheeze, something I thought I’d never get to see or hear from a stand. After the fight was over this buck walked in to 15 yards. I drew my Bowtech and placed a perfect broadside shot on him. Truly blessed is an understatement, I couldn’t be more thankful for the opportunity to harvest a great Pennsylvania whitetail.

The rest of the 2022 season will be spent between Pennsylvania and Ohio. Adam still has PA tags to fill and we both have Ohio tags to fill so the rest of the season could be interesting.

Reflecting back on this past 2021 season, it was nothing short of frustration. Adam spent a lot of time out of town through the summer and couldn’t get much done with food plots, scouting, trail cameras, or anything really. Starting in August, I also began my first semester in college, so I was gone Sunday-Friday from mid-August until mid-December, which made archery and rifle seasons very tough. However, we still pushed through and hunted any day that we could. Archery season was full of encounters with a few different bucks but only a few bucks came within range. Nathan was lucky enough to take a nice 8 pt in the peak of the rut but Adam was never able to connect with a mature buck. Rifle season on the other hand, was full of many encounters. Mostly with a buck that has been around all summer and all fall that I call Mr. Rebel (last picture). Every sit for 4 days straight he came within range. One day even coming within 20 yards and feeding in the corn for over an hour. As rifle season came to an end, we tried some new things and shifted some things around but all attempts at success, ultimately ended with 3 un-filled tags. Winter has been tough. We haven’t been able to get out in the stand much this late season so there hasn’t been much opportunity for success. Overall it has been a frustrating, yet a successful season 🦌

1 year ago today was a very special day for .boone_ in the stand where I was able to harvest the buck that we called ā€œTankā€

This was a 5 1/2 year old buck that we had a ton of history with. Our first encounter was when he was a 2 1/2 year old 6 point. Year after year he continued to get bigger and bigger. 2019 archery season was my first up close encounter. I had been sitting in a stand that had been set up for years but was never really hunted. Tank worked his way across the field and made his way right to my stand where I had missed him at 14 yards

The rest of that season I had dedicated towards harvesting Tank. However, we didn’t see him in person the rest of the season. He went completely nocturnal. It was rumored that a hunter on the neighbors property had shot him in late season so we cut our losses and moved on.

Fast forward to October 7, 2020, we had gotten a singular nighttime picture of Tank in our homemade mix food plot. From that point on I was focused on only him. I hunted 4 days a week morning and evening trying to catch him in daylight but never saw him in person. As the season progressed, we had gotten a few more nighttime pictures in the same food plot and on the edge of our farm

Rifle season started out very slow on opening day and we barely saw anything. The second day though was when everything picked up. That evening I decided to switch things up and sit in a hang on stand we had looking over an old pasture. Looked out across the field at 4:30 and sure enough he was standing right there coming straight towards me.

I messed up an opportunity the year before and wasn’t going to let this opportunity go to waste. I waited until I had a broadside shot and smoked him at 130 yards with my T3 Tikka 243 and he

Tagged out in PAāœ… Sunday ended my long and tough archery season. From pulling back and my arm rubbing a tree, to my nock falling off on release. This buck came in at 8:20 on Sunday just as the snow started. Gave me multiple chances to think about it and finally he stepped into an opening. Couldn’t be more blessed. Onto Ohio next month.
