🎉 4 Steps to an Amazing Company Party 🌟
In a pinch to plan your company end-of-year or holiday party? Just because you're on a limited budget doesn't mean you can't have big fun, and create lasting memories for your whole team. Here's our 4 steps:
1. Limited program 📋
Keep the program brief (and encourage your owner/CEO/boss to keep their speech short). Allow your people lots of unstructured time to interact and get to know one another personally. Many would rather chat, rather than take part in a group game or structured activity - although a short, "ice-breaker" game at the beginning of your event, can serve to loosen up your group and get people talking.
2. Honor your people 🏆
Your people work hard. Take time to honor as many of them as possible. Bring them up front, (briefly) share how they have helped your organization move forward. Give them a hand-written card from your leadership, a gift? Gifts don't need to be expensive - maybe a gift card, flowers or plants, a multi-tool, a (make sure it's nice) cool company sweatshirt ... You know your people.
3. Make it different from everyday work - Make it special 🥂
- How about having it in the evening, outside of work hours?
- Fun food - Again, doesn't need to be expensive. How about your leaders do some grilling? Or have a chili cook-off with prizes. Or provide the main course and your people bring sides and desserts.
- Invite spouses (or "significant others") - or even whole families. Have something fun for kids.
- Have a talent show with prizes. Showcase the hidden talents (musical, etc) of your people. OR have your leaders make a funny video - You can even have an employee video contest!
- If possible, have your event at a venue, away from your offices or location. Again, this doesn't need to be expensive. Think outside of the box! A community center, a school, a church ...
- If you do host your event at your location, onsite, you can still make it special by decorating. Put up strings of lights, holiday decorations, etc.
- How about making it a dressy attire, semi-formal, event?
4. A FUN and festive environment 🎵
Music!
There's nothing worse than walking into a cold room full of people and no one is talking - you can hear a pin drop. Nothing says "party" like great music (but it needs to SOUND fabulous). You can poll your people for some of their favorite songs and artists and put together a playlist.
Loud (enough) and clear:
When you honor your people, or when you share about your team's WINS over the past year, you want to be heard! This is not the time for shouting, or unclear or fuzzy speech, or for the screech of feedback.
Lighting:
The right stage lighting can make an ordinary space (even a warehouse) look fabulous and festive.
Projection:
Try to avoid the same old corporate PowerPoint presentations. Think: Holiday-themed graphics or clips from classic holiday movies, or videos made by your leaders or employees (see above).
Hi, I'm Kevin with Impression Sound & Events. I realize that every event is as unique as the group who is hosting it. Just because you have a small to medium-sized group (up to about 200 people) doesn't mean you should have poor-quality sound, music, projection and lighting. Let's talk! I'm happy to brainstorm with you on how to make your next event a complete success - and it's probably more affordable than you think - but our end-of-year slots are filling up fast.
We serve the South Metro Atlanta area, including: Tyrone, Peachtree City, Fayetteville, Sharpsburg, Newnan and Senoia.
