The Jacka Art Show is coming back to Oakland 💙🎨

The community event returns Saturday, August 15 at Obsidian Healing Camp, 1200 24th Street, Oakland, CA, bringing fans, artists, and supporters together to celebrate the legacy of The Jacka.

Expect a full day centered around art, music, healing, local talent, and community love. The event will feature creatives from different lanes, including painters, photographers, fashion designers, crafters, singers, rappers, spoken word artists, and more.

A Chicago-bound Frontier Airlines flight had to make an emergency landing in Miami after police say a passenger tried to open an emergency exit door, attempted to get into the cockpit, then choked an off-duty flight attendant mid-flight.

Authorities identified the passenger as 51-year-old Juan Gabriel Reyes. Passengers and crew helped restrain him before the plane safely landed at Miami International Airport, where he was taken into custody. ✈️😳

Wild situation in the air, but thankfully the flight landed safely.

Richmond is mourning the loss of Melvin Murphy, a 64-year-old apartment maintenance worker who served his community for nearly 20 years 🕊️

Murphy was shot and killed Friday evening near W. Nevin and C Street after what family members described as an argument.

Loved ones and tenants gathered for a memorial outside his apartment, remembering him as a father, grandfather, longtime worker, and generous neighbor who looked out for kids in the building with snacks and ice cream.

Police say the suspect, 31-year-old Jabari Fontenot, was tracked to Concord using license plate reader technology. He is now facing murder charges as investigators continue looking into the motive.
