September is National Preparedness Month. In Tennessee, citizens are encouraged to be “Ready to Recover” from emergencies and disasters.

Obion County faces a variety of hazards including tornadoes, floods, severe storms, fires and earthquakes.

Some tips and tools for becoming recovery-ready include:

-Protecting important documents before a disaster
- Checking your insurance coverage for your home and belongings
- Keep an emergency kit available. Some items for this kit include a flashlight, small radio, batteries, portable phone charger, first aid kit, food and water.

Reminder:
The United Stated Small Business Administration (SBA) has an office set up at the Obion County Library to assist victims of the FEBRUARY flooding in Obion County. Homeowners, renters small businesses and private nonprofits are eligible to apply for disaster loans through SBA. This office is located in inside the Library and is separate from the FEMA Disaster Relief Center also located at the library. Again, this SBA Office is open for those who had damage from the FEBRUARY flooding.

The Small Business Administration (SBA) is set up at the Obion County Library to offer loan assistance for the February floods in the area.
Open 9-5 M-F
Open 9-2 Saturday.
Closed Sunday.

This office is set up for loan assistance for the February floods.

FEMA is also still at the Obion County Library offering assistance for the April flooding.
