✨ After four years of planning, the Creole Food Festival finally made its Brooklyn debut — right under the iconic Brooklyn Bridge at Emily Roebling Plaza!

On Sept. 9, officers from the Nassau County Police Department’s First Precinct were called after a ball python startled a Uniondale resident by slithering through their basement window on First Place.

The mystery snake — now safely curled up in a Merrick wildlife rehabilitator’s home — is still waiting to be claimed.

✨ A dream 15 years in the making has finally come true in Uniondale!

PLUS Group Homes celebrated the grand opening of its first heated indoor pool at its flagship residence on Sept. 11 — giving 54 residents with developmental disabilities a safe, therapeutic, and joyful space year-round.

Executive Director Terri Cancilla called the pool “a vital outlet” for residents, many of whom are nonverbal. Since opening, staff have already seen a decrease in behavioral outbursts, with residents swimming, walking, or simply relaxing in the 85-degree water.
