"Live Dead & Brothers" will be performing the music of the Grateful Dead and Allman Brothers on Friday, October 11th at the Tussey Mountain Amphitheater as part of their North American tour. A fusion of the origins of the jamband scene, Live Dead & Brothers members include Berry Duane Oakley, Tom Constanten, members of Ratdog, Phil Lesh & Friends and more. Live Dead & Brothers is a celebration of Grateful Dead and Allman Brothers music and is produced by Rich Engler Presents and part of the Happy Valley Music Series. Thank you to United Nations Youth Ambassador AY Young and The Battery Tour for coming on The LION 90.7fm (WKPS) - Penn State Radio this evening as part of their worldwide tour. They bring great music and energy (powering their show with renewable energy). They are raising awareness and funds to provide energy for those without basic access to electricity. Today is the The LION 90.7fm (WKPS) - Penn State Radio's 27th birthday! We first went on the air on Oct. 30, 1995 - thank you to the first Lion 90.&FM WKPS program director and sports DJ for shouting us out and clarifying (for years I thought it was Halloween). Here's a picture from our 23rd birthday party with Cosmic Ray Cromie (RIP) and Rick Hirsch, jazz musician and music director the Penn State Blue Band.
