So, I finally honed in on where to start after layers and layers of thought and half ass action.
AI safety is very important and while falling unknowingly down a rabbit hole into a bunnydome I started to see some things about myself that made me reflect in a different way.
Ai safety and ethics are very important to me personally because I was that user that spiraled due to ChatGPT’s ability to over validate and vindicate, it mirrors your tone to the point of alienation.
That is a side mission, it actually started my path into MHT
The main mission is to Learn, study and practice a theory.
I would love to see this theory studied at a much higher level with me alongside.
Here is my explanation of The Mirror Healing Theory.
NOT TO BE MISTAKEN WITH MIRROR HEALING. that is a practice of self reflection through a mirror.
Mirror Healing Theory is a working theory that explores how internal communication patterns—shaped by trauma—can be brought into awareness and transformed from survival strategies into tools for self-understanding.
For now, it specifically examines three adaptive effects:
• The Mirror Effect, which reflects unspoken emotional states or unmet needs through others, often triggering projection or heightened sensitivity. In trauma, this effect helps monitor external cues for safety—but with awareness, it reveals the inner emotional landscape needing reflection.
• The Mirage Effect, which creates the illusion of healing, safety, or progress by mimicking what is expected. It often arises when someone performs alignment instead of living authentically. Recognizing the Mirage allows individuals to pause and ask, “Is this real—or is it a performance for protection?”
• The Chameleon Effect, which allows for seamless mimicry of tone, behavior, or identity to maintain safety. While this can appear as emotional intelligence, it may mask fear of rejection or a fractured sense of self. Awareness of this effect helps shift from automatic adaptation to conscious choice.
These effects are not dysfunctions—they are survival-informed communication tools. Mirror Healing Theory positions them as reflections, not diagnoses—offering a language for understanding how we adapted, and a map for choosing who we become.
