That's a Wrap! Celebrating the 5th Annual Native American Writers Seminar!

What an inspiring final day for our incredible cohort at the 5th Annual Native American Writers Seminar! We closed out the seminar week of intensive learning with three fantastic sessions.

Sesame Street shared invaluable insights into their pipeline programs, including the highly sought-after Sesame Writers' Room, and their participant selection process. They underscored the critical importance of diverse perspectives and authentic voices in shaping the TV and film industry's future.

The fellows provided feedback for Seminar writer Desireé Leialoha

Writer Matthew Rochester offered expert guidance on adapting comic books to screenplays. He emphasized the profound importance of building genuine relationships in the industry and reminded the fellows to play the long game when it comes to crafting a successful and fulfilling career.

Congratulations to all our fellows! We can't wait to see the incredible stories you bring to life.

Day 4: Mastering the Pitch & Nurturing Authentic Voice!

What another powerhouse day at the 5th Annual Native American Writers Seminar! Our fellows engaged in incredibly insightful sessions that are key to navigating the screenwriting world.

First, they met with Almanack Screenwriters and discussed their diverse programs, offered key insights into what they seek in applicants, and provided invaluable tips for effectively pitching themselves and their work to collaborators and investors.

They provided feedback for seminar writer Chase Hall's script.

They dove deep into the craft with writer Tom Hanada, who shared essential guidance on outlining screenplays, the art of giving and receiving notes, and, crucially, how to ensure your authentic voice shines through in every word you write.

The learning journey continues to inspire!
