WE ADOPTED A 3-YEAR-OLD BOY — BUT WHEN MY HUSBAND GAVE HIM HIS FIRST BATH, HE YELLED, “WE HAVE TO TAKE HIM BACK!”
My husband and I have been married for a decade. After years of trying for a baby without success, we turned to adoption. Since my husband was constantly tied up with work, I took the lead — reaching out to agencies, filling out forms, and going through profiles of children needing families.
Our first intention was to adopt a newborn, but the waiting list was overwhelming. Then I stumbled upon a photo of a 3-year-old boy whose mother had walked away from him. His wide blue eyes instantly touched me.
I showed the picture to my husband, and he was also drawn to Sam. After discussing it at length, we both agreed we were ready to welcome him into our lives.
We finalized the adoption, and a month later, Sam came home. I was thrilled! To my surprise, my husband volunteered to give him his first bath — hoping to bond right away. I felt so happy seeing him embrace fatherhood.
But barely a minute after stepping into the bathroom, he rushed out shouting, “WE HAVE TO TAKE HIM BACK!” (Story continues in the comments)👇
