We are beyond heartbroken to announce the unexpected death of Nyaliep Kuany. Last spring, Restoring Dignity's amazing supporters came together to provide this family with a home makeover. Nyaliep suffered tremendously after a freak car accident left her wheelchair bound, needing many surgeries. She succumbed to a heart attack this week, leaving her five children behind. Restoring Dignity received permission from Nyaliep's father to create a fundraiser to raise funds for her funeral costs and short-term expenses for her children, as they get situated into their new life without their mom. Please give what you can. And share widely. Thank you, Omaha.

I now have a degree in journalism & broadcasting!

“What do you want to be when you grow up?”

My answer constantly changed when I was younger, but there was always a common theme. I wanted to positively impact the world in whatever way possible. I accidentally stumbled into journalism a little over two years ago, and I can’t imagine myself doing anything else.

I have had the opportunity to reach millions around the world, connect with people, and, most importantly, inspire people within different generations.

I have gained a new family at the UNL College of Journalism and Mass Communications. Everyone here has always been supportive and kind to me.

This journey hasn’t been easy, and it has taken years to accomplish, but I have made it. I wish my Dad were physically here for this moment, but I know he is in spirit. Education was always important to him. I’m so honored to be the first college graduate in the family.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart to every single person who has supported me on this journey and believed in me to see it through. Especially in the moments of uncertainty when I needed it most.

Let’s take the world by storm together.
