Hugs and tears mixed into a profound sadness washed over the Carson City-Crystal girls soccer team — but they snapped out of it in an instant.

Head coach Nathan Walker recognized the feelings his team was experiencing. That Wednesday marked senior day for the Eagles and there is such a deep connection with this team — the tears were imminent, no matter what, during the halftime ceremony recognizing three seniors and two foreign exchange students:

Carson City was awarded $341,129 for water system enhancement through distribution system materials inventory development and asset management plan updates. The grant was awarded through the Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes & Energy (EGLE) as a Drinking Water Asset Management grant:

This city has received a grant from the state of Michigan for water system enhancements. Gov. Gretchen Whitmer announced on Thursday that Carson City was awarded $341,129 for water system enhancement through distribution system materials inventory development and asset management plan updates.

Carson City-Crystal sophomore Gavin Reeder needed just 32 pitches to earn a Mid-State Activities Conference win on Thursday against Montabella.

Reeder mowed through the Mustangs’ lineup and the Eagles’ bats gave him all the run support he could need — earning a 16-0 win in the three-inning opener of the doubleheader:

The Crystal Township Board is looking to sell a tiny piece of beach property, which officials only recently learned the township owned.

The 33-foot-wide property is located at 355 North Shore Drive at the intersection of the dead-end Goodwin Street on Crystal Lake. The township board recently met in closed session with their attorney regarding “pending litigation” related to the property:
