This totem portrait of Esmeralda is made of detritus and paint splatter to resemble a semi-religious inner-city memorial.

The story takes place in the 1990s in New York. Esmeralda is a 12-year-old girl living on the Bronx’s killing streets, and after her death, neighbors claim to see her face in an orange juice advertising billboard, considering it a miracle.
