Meet Elliott! Elliott is Mama Elle's mini-me. He is solid black, though it looks like he may have some white fur mixed in around his front legs and chest. Elliott isn't very cooperative for the camera, as you can probably tell from some of the blurry pictures! Blurry or not, he is still as cute as can be! 😻 Elliott's name comes from Purdue's Elliott Hall of Music. In addition to concerts and other live performances, Purdue commencement ceremonies are also held at Elliott Hall. The boys aren't as daring and social as the girls yet, so I'm still trying to get some pictures of the last boy. Stay tuned!

Mama is starting to trust me more, and the babies are suddenly a lot more mobile! I might be able to get some decent pictures in the next few days. I think we have 3 boys (2 gray, 1 black) and 2 girls (1 gray, 1 tortie). Names coming soon, I hope!

Meet Miss Keady (pronounced Kay-dee)! She has the cutest nose, half pink and half black, and a spot of orange on the very tip of her tail! 😻 Keady is named after legendary Purdue men's basketball coach, Gene Keady. She's already got and is walking better and faster than all the other kittens so far! Stay tuned for pictures and names of the two boys.

Meet Amelia! Her little toes just kill me. 😻 Being a Purdue University alum, I decided to give this group of kittens Purdue-related names. Amelia is named after aviator Amelia Earhart, who was once a faculty member at Purdue. I lived in Earhart Hall during freshman year. 🐱💕😍

I can't believe how fast the kittens are growing up! They are almost 4 weeks old already. They are starting to play with toys and suddenly have real cat ears! They went for boosters and dewormers today, and everyone, including mama, did great! They've started showing an interest in mama's food when she eats, and tonight, Keady stuck her paw in, and then licked it. Then she started licking the food on the plate! A few kittens have also stuck their noses in the water bowl a couple of times. Tonight, Lilly lapped some water! What a big girl! Tomorrow is my last real day of work for the summer (YAY!), so I plan to start encouraging all of them with wet kitten food later this week.

Meet Lilly! 🐾 That stripe on her face is everything! 😻

Picking Purdue-inspired girl names was way tougher than the boy names 😅—but then Lilly Hall (the Life Sciences building on campus 🧬🏫) came to mind, and it just fit. So here she is: our sweet little scientist-in-the-making, Lilly! 💛🐱🎓

Terrible picture quality, I know. The lighting in my foster room is not good and mama has the kittens under the bed now. My goal by the end of this weekend (Tuesday, for me) is to get a decent individual shot of each kitten and announce names. The kittens are sitting up and starting to push up on all fours to walk now. Their ears have started to open up, and they are responsive to my voice. Mama still won't let me directly approach them, but she's cool when they come to me. I think she just wants all the pets and chin scratches for herself!

This email from Logan and Luca's new family brought bittersweet tears to my eyes! I am so happy they were adopted together and by such a wonderful couple. I was unaware they had tested positive for FeLV. I'm so grateful that this couple is familiar with the disease and will make sure they receive the best care possible! They are in great hands and will have a fun and happy life together!
