In 2018, the Golden State Killer's arrest rocked the true crime world. Finally, that infamous serial murderer and ra**st was outed as Joseph James DeAngelo.

But the group of investigators, prosecutors, and experts in that case didn't stop there. They had more work to do.

Just recently, a number of them helped out in a notorious Texas mystery. Including a former District Attorney, who spoke to us on The Murder Sheet about her experience.

On August 31, 1976, Patty Otto vanished from Lewiston, Idaho. On August 27, 1978, a group of hunters found human remains in the woods of Finley Creek, Oregon. Did they find Patty?

At the press conference on the Austin yogurt shop murders, investigators alluded to serial killer Robert Brashers committing an unsolved murder in Kentucky in 1998. That same year, firefighters discovered the body of 43-year-old Linda Rutledge in her parents' burning hearing aid business in Lexington, Kentucky. The fire did not kill her. She had been shot multiple times.

On September 29, 2025, authorities had a press conference where they discussed the latest developments in an infamous quadruple murder — the yogurt shop murders — in Austin, Texas.
