This rise was seen as a structural issue, with economists pointing to workforce changes, federal agency layoffs, and reduced DEI initiatives.

Key Figures & Trends for November 2025
• Overall Black Unemployment: 8.3% (seasonally adjusted), matching rates seen in August, though higher than October's data.

• Black Women's Unemployment: Reached approximately 7.5%, a concerning spike noted in late 2025 analyses.
• Contributing Factors:

◦ Federal Workforce Cuts: Layoffs in federal agencies, where Black workers are often overrepresented, had a major impact.

◦ Reduced Programs: Rollbacks in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion roles also disproportionately affected Black women.
