Spectacular shelf cloud yesterday in the Middle Susquehanna Valley!

Haven't done this in a while but I was able to capture a panorama of this shelf cloud associated with a severe warned storm moving into the area this evening, probably the best looking shelf cloud of the year so far!

We've went ahead and added an aurora information page on the website so you can keep up to date with any potential aurora chances in the future. Feel free to check it out, and let us know what we should add if anything!

You'd need a G2 (KP6) geomagnetic storm for the auroras to be visible on camera in Northern Pennsylvania, and a G3-G4 (KP7-KP8) for the auroras to be visible with the naked eye across the state....

The Space Weather Prediction Center has issued a G4 Geomagnetic Storm Watch for Sunday, and the forecast isn't looking bad at all. There'll be some clouds around early tomorrow night in Northeastern PA but those should clear out as the night goes on, wildfire smoke will be staying west of the state so there's no smoke concerns either. We will mention though that the auroras may or may not happen as it's a sensitive forecast, we will make a follow-up post tomorrow if things continue to look on track but the weather will be cooperating for this potential event.
