What's better that enjoying the last rays of sunlight, out by the pool, with a brilliant Quad?
Quixotic Quad from Balanced Rock in The Colony, TX is one of Ken's favorite quads, with a perfect balance of color, malt and pure happiness...
Ken says 'head' a lot in this one....

Hanging out with Art in our ugly sweaters talking about the new batch of his EXCELLENT Peter's Porter, GABF Gold medal winner! It's a brilliant beer, but letting it warm up towards room temp really opens up the subtle and not-so subtle flavors Go check it out!

My heart is full! We stumbled into Mandrill Nano Brewing Co. tucked inside Split’s old city walls, and it’s got that perfect blend of grit and charm. Think punk posters on the ceiling, sea breeze in your hair, and a tap list that punches way above its weight.

Here’s the lowdown on three brews that made our sun-soaked afternoon unforgettable:

- Badger: Amber pour, nutty malt, caramel backbone, smooth finish.
- John Lemon: Zesty citrus nose, hazy gold, tart and cheeky.
- Hoppy Lager: Bright straw hue, floral hops, crisp bitter snap.

Massive thanks to Galan for the warm welcome and killer recs—your vibe made the whole experience sing. We’re already dreaming of our next visit to the taproom. Save us a seat in the sun.

Hours after landing we wandered around Sultanahmet, ate local food, and then went to the best new bar and restaurant in the area, The barman helped us try the local liquor, Raki, which has a strong Anise flavor like sambucca and ouzo. We tried it the right way, on ice with water, and neat. Comment below how you prefer it!
Then we tried the local unfiltered lager, Bomonti and were happy with the nice malt flavor and lager character.

Y'all, how's this for a fall favorite 🍂—Blackjack Brown Ale from Four Bullets Brewery! This deep chestnut beauty pours with a creamy tan head and hits you with warm caramel on the nose. First sip? Silky malt, a kiss of toffee, and just enough earthy hops to keep it grounded. At 5.5% ABV and 24 IBU, it’s the kind of beer that makes you forget your phone and savor the moment. No wonder it’s their most popular pour—it’s like sweater weather in a glass.

This English-style brown is brewed with heart,  so If you’re anywhere near Richardson, TX, do yourself a favor and pull up a chair and a cigar on their patio 🍺✨
