Host Robert Jones interviews author and fellow philosopher John Sanbonmatsu on the Peace and Justice Program on KZFR, 90.1FM tomorrow, Friday, 6/13 at Noon about his long awaited book that offers the most powerful case yet for ending our exploitation of animals for food.

"Millions of Americans see themselves as "conflicted omnivores," worrying about the ethical and environmental implications of their choice to eat animals. Yet their attempts to justify their choices only obscure the truth of the matter: in John Sanbonmatsu’s view, killing and eating animals is unethical, regardless of whether they are "free range" or factory farmed. Shattering the conventional wisdom around the meat economy, he reframes the question of animal agriculture from one of "sustainability" to one of existential and moral purpose, presenting a powerful case for the total abolition of the animal economy."

These are perilous times with Gazans being bombed and starved and people in the West Bank being displaced by home demolitions. Learn more of the back story. Natalie Hanson interviews CoHost and Philosophy professor Robert Jones and Zanja Yudell, Chair of the Philosophy Department at CSUC, on this question--How can philosophy and critical thinking education not only matter, but help us get through democratic crises like the one the U.S. is facing - and why are these disciplines subsequently under attack, under this administration?
