I considered polishing this LSA. Nope. Part of the attraction with many LSA's is what is naturally exposed. Now add a splash of paint-like limonite. What you see on the exterior often changes inside. So, natural is best in this case. It's already perfect.
I NEVER use mineral oil. Never understood that. If you're going to alter an agate, roll the dice and go the distance.
I select less than desirable LSA's when I alter them. I go with "it can only make it better" or "it can't get any worse."
I still make mistakes on occasion (big yellow moss), but it's still just a moss. AND I'll always find more.

A couple smalls I thought could be moss/dendritic agates. Am I correct? Topeka hunt this Sunday morning, then a little C & P.

Getting a bit weak, but that first one is a bleached red moss LSA. Lots of imperfections to grind out. We'll start polishing plus a few more LSA cuts this Sunday 10:00 AM to 2:00PM.
