On the banks of an African river, tourists expecting a peaceful safari suddenly found themselves watching a life-or-death struggle.

A lion cub had wandered too close to the water when a crocodile burst from the river, seizing it in its jaws. The pride erupted in chaos — the mother lioness roared, but it was the dominant male who charged first. In a blur of fury, he struck the crocodile, his roar shaking the plains.

The battle was fierce. The crocodile dragged toward the water, but the lion held fast. Then the lionesses joined in, clawing and snarling until the reptile finally released the cub. Shaken but alive, the little one scrambled back into its mother’s embrace.

But the fight didn’t end there. Together, the pride overwhelmed the crocodile, turning predator into prey. That day, tourists witnessed more than a hunt — they saw a family defending its own, led by a king who proved why his roar still reigns supreme.

She gave birth on the cold floor of a shelter, abandoned and alone—yet with quiet dignity, she brought life into the world. Curled around her puppies, she shields them from drafts, feeds them despite her own hunger, and soothes their cries with a gentle nudge of her nose.

To most who walk past, she is just another stray with a litter. But look into her eyes and you’ll see more—love, resilience, and a hope that refuses to die. Her puppies will likely find homes. Too often, mothers like her are left behind.

Yet she has so much love still to give. She dreams of grass beneath her paws instead of concrete, of a hand reaching for her not out of pity, but out of recognition. She is not just a mother waiting—she is a survivor, a soul pleading for a second chance.

On Friday night in Waco, Auburn’s 38–24 win over Baylor had its share of big plays—but the biggest story wasn’t on the highlight reel. It belonged to kicker Alex McPherson.
Two days after turning 22, McPherson scored eight points for the Tigers, going five-for-five on extra points and drilling a field goal. Solid numbers for any kicker. But for Alex, it was the exclamation mark on a comeback few thought possible.
In 2024, he was diagnosed with ulcerative colitis. By July, his weight had dropped to just 110 pounds. That December, doctors removed his colon. For most, it would have meant the end of a football career. For Alex, it became another challenge to fight through. After months of rehab, setbacks, and even more complications this past summer, he fought his way back to the field.
On Friday night, at 155 pounds, with his wife Hannah cheering in the stands, Alex wasn’t just kicking for Auburn’s scoreboard—he was kicking against every doubt, every setback, every doctor’s warning. He was proof that resilience beats adversity, that faith and grit matter as much as strength and size.
In a sport dominated by giants, the smallest man on the field stood the tallest.

It might look like just a boy with a Coke and a smile, but for 11-year-old Branson Blevins, that small moment is everything. From his hospital room in Rome, Italy, he continues his fight with acute leukemia as he prepares for a bone marrow transplant on September 2nd—a day his family calls his “rebirthday.”

This week brought glimmers of good news: Branson’s appetite is returning, his weight is climbing, and his doctors are encouraged. But hardship remains—gallstones cause painful abdominal episodes, and ahead lies total body irradiation and chemotherapy to clear the way for his mother’s marrow donation. Nichole asks for prayers as she completes her own donor testing, hopeful everything stays on track.

That Coke and that smile remind everyone what this fight is about: joy in the middle of pain, hope in the face of fear, and the resilience of a boy who refuses to stop smiling.
