The Alternative Energy Committee hosted a gathering on June 23 to celebrate an important milestone — the Town of Cohasset’s solar array at 91 Cedar St. has officially reached $500,000 in energy savings for the town.

The event — emceed by AEC Chair Tanya Bodell — featured remarks by Town Manager Chris Senior, select board member David Farrag, and Gordon Deane of Palmer Capital, with whom the town has a 20-year lease and net metering agreement.

Did you know that Hingham’s Old Ship Meeting House is the ONLY Puritan Meeting House from the 1600’s still standing in the United States? Built in 1681, it has become a beloved symbol of the town of Hingham, and is a National Historic Landmark visited by thousands from around the world each year.

The Meeting House is open this summer for walk-in tours on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, from 10 am to 1 pm. A volunteer tour guide will be there to fill you in on the fascinating history of the building and of the times it has seen, or you may just wander through and soak up the feeling of history imbued in its massive beams and wooden box pews.

Select board goals for Fiscal 2026 relate in part to communication and community awareness, moving forward with the public safety facility project on King Street, negotiating a lease with a non-profit to create a cultural center at 41 Highland Ave., and a special town meeting to revisit the proposed Recycling Transfer Facility enterprise fund that did not pass at the recent annual town meeting.

Headbands on and now it’s time to lunge, stretch, bend and contort yourself any which way- all just to win a round of Stumbo Stack.

Stumbo Stack is a hilarious and highly entertaining game “where athleticism and a shameful lack of flexibility collide.” It can be played “indoors or outdoors, from the beach to the dorm or house party,” and good news- it is available in local stores (The Good Sport) just in time for maximum summer fun.

Cohasset native Sam Roth created Stumbo Stack while hanging out at his parents house on Highland Ave. Roth, a Cohasset High graduate, had spent 8 years living and working abroad.

🚨 A massive four-alarm blaze at the South Shore Sports Center in South Hingham — unoccupied at the time — late Thursday night into early Friday morning that engulfed the roof in flames caused major structural damage to the building — resulting in a complete shut-down of the facility at the beginning of one of its busiest seasons.🚨 click below for more details ⬇️

Cohasset notched a pair of boys State Championships in track and field, with Nathan Askjaer winning both the Division 6 and All-State Championship in the Pentathlon, while Will McLoughlin won the 200m in spectaculaar fashion! 👏🏃🏻‍♂️
